Professional software developer, amateur musician.
I work behind the scenes, transforming data into usable information.
Massive music nut, both creating and consuming.
Specialise in server-side software development.
Die hard sports fan, for better or for worse.
I love to both play and listen, and I will attempt to master every instrument I can get my hands on. Self-taught guitarist, proud father of six guitars, one bass, and a banjo.
Perl, Go, and Scala are the languages I work with nearly daily, with C++ for pet projects at home. Cassandra certified, I can design and use both MySQL and NoSQL databases.
I have an unfortunate attachment to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and a very fortunate attachment to the New England Patriots.
Took a trip down to Santa Clara to become a fully certified Cassandra developer.
Received a degree in Computer Science at Carleton University. Took a particular interest in Psychology and AI.
Who knows what the future holds? As long as I can continue working with data, learn new technologies, and improve automation, I'll be happy.
Automating services, scripting, big data analytics; you name it. If it's back-end, I'm on it.
I realise this is a little empty, right now.
I've got some projects on the go, but haven't added them to Git just yet.
I'm not living fast and loose - my current projects have yet to be committed.
Things will be here soon. That repo counter is just waiting to shoot up.
A short list of songs I've written and recorded.
Yours truly on vocals when they're there, and all the guitar you can hear.
Below is my personal selection of a few favourites.
